Obituary of Linda Marie Amoroso

Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Linda Marie Amoroso was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She left this world peacefully on January 27, 2022, at the age of 65. She was born the middle of five children to Margaret (Dunn) and Edward O'Boyle on February 24, 1956, in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1974, she graduated from Cherry Hill High School East in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. When Linda and her family moved to Marlboro, New York she met her husband Gerardo "Jerry" Amoroso. They were happily married for 42 years. Jerry and Linda were blessed with four children, two daughters-in-law, and two amazing grandsons. Her greatest desire in life was to be a mother, and at this, she was truly extraordinary. She lived for her four children and loved them fiercely. The kids attribute all of their accomplishments in life to Linda's dedication, memorable lessons, and unconditional love. While she did not have much time with her two grandsons, all who knew Linda know that "Gramma" would have been her most cherished role. Linda was happiest supporting her children. From sports practices and school plays to class projects and homework, Linda encouraged her kids to always try their best. She often joked that her hair color was not grey but silver–silver medals she earned proudly from caring for her family. Stern, yet remarkably compassionate, Linda taught her children to do good, give selflessly, and to always see the best in themselves and others. She was best known for her service to St. Mary's religious education program, spending hours on elaborate crafts, and her popular chocolate zucchini bread. Along with her husband Jerry, Linda is survived by her children, Michael (Jennifer) of Hyde Park, NY; Kaitlin of Brooklyn, NY; Joseph (Caroline) of Charlottesville, VA; and Grace (Matthew Moore) of Boston, MA. Her grandsons Gerardo "Jack" and Everett Amoroso will be raised in her image. Linda was predeceased by her parents. In lieu of flowers, Linda's family requests donations be made to St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Marlboro, NY and that you give either your parents or your children a big hug. "Two hands!" A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Marlboro, NY on Monday, January 31, at 10:30 AM. The family asks that all attendees respect the recommended COVID-related precautions. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the DiDonato Funeral Service, Inc. (845) 236-4300,
