George Czinkota

Obituary of George Czinkota

George Louis Czinkota, 86, of Bonita Springs, Florida, died Thursday January 6, 2022 at North Collier Hospital in Florida. Born March 10, 1935, in Newburgh New York, he was the son of the late Alexander Louis and Sofia Nagy Czinkota. George proudly served overseas in the Korean War as a staff sergeant. Upon returning home, he worked for the New York Telephone Company for 30 years. George was a truly gifted artist, able to create beauty from any medium he set his mind to, including stained glass, woodcarving, painting, and carving eggs. One of the things he loved most was spending time with his grandchildren as they shared his passion for artistic expression. George was generous to a fault, never hesitating to donate his time to anyone who needed help, and never requesting reimbursement for his efforts. George was a devoted and loving husband and grandfather; his kindheartedness, sense of humor, and questionable domino-playing tactics will never be forgotten. On October 26, 1958, George married the love of his life, Barbara (nee Dickson). They shared many loving years together. In addition to his wife Barbara, George is survived by their son George Czinkota Jr. and his wife Jane of New Paltz New York, along with their two children Alison and Alexander; his daughter Deborah and her husband Mark Levy of Newburgh New York, along with their four children Jennifer, Brianna, Gabrielle and Mitchell. He is also survived by his elder sister Charlotte Czinkota of Alabama. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Helen, Margaret, Sophia, Edna, Esther, and Ella, and brothers, Joseph, Alexander, Andrew, Stephen, Louis, John, and Charles.
