On November 15,2021 heaven received another Angel. Maria Ashworth Basciano passed away. Maria was born May 11,1960 to Angela and Edward Ashworth. Maria is the wife of Joseph Basciano of Marlboro. Maria is the mother of two sons who she was so proud of and told anyone who would listen how wonderful they both were. Her son Christopher Sotanski and his wife Sarah reside in Marlboro with their two sons , Tristen and Adrian. Her son Michael Sotanski resides in Marlboro with his wife Francesca and their sons William, Matthew, Michael and Aston. All of her grandchildren were the lights of Maria's life. Being called "grandma" was her greatest love. Maria is survived by her sister Diane McCausland of Poughkeepsie who always told Maria "You mean so much to me, you have been with me through the good and bad times, drying my tears and giving me enough smiles to last a lifetime". Maria also is survived by her two brothers. Jamey and Barbara Ashworth of New Paltz. Jamey always said that their friendship was the most beautiful present she could give him and the most beautiful gift he could ever receive. Kenneth Ashworth resides with his wife Judy in Poughkeepsie. Kenny was her little brother who she loved dearly even though he was always teasing her. Maria had many nieces and nephews and loved them all. We only understand death after it has placed its hands on someone we love. We will remember Maria as having the most beautiful Heart and Soul Calling hours will be held on Thursday November 18 from 5pm-8pm at The DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro.
