Paul Quimby a lifelong Marlboro resident died on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Hospital, Poughkeepsie. He was 85. Paul was born in Newburgh, NY on July 7, 1936. He was the son of the late Samuel and Emma Schuman Quimby. He married Dorothy Kratche who predeceased him in 2005.
Paul was a Produce Auctioneer in Milton, NY for 25 years serving our local farmers. He loved his job and his customers. Paul worked until recently at The Manza Family Farm in Montgomery, NY, he served 9 years in the National Guard, he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Marlboro, a member of the Marlboro Historical Society and a 12 year member of the Town of Marlboro Town Board. Paul loved baseball games and was a big San Francisco Giants fan. He loved his family, his children and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his son Kevin Quimby and wife Valaura and their daughter Jade, his daughter Darla Gannon and her husband Herb and their children Chad, Clint and Cora Ann, his daughter Desiree Potter and her husband Chris and their children Hudson and Hayes, his great grandson Oliver Gannon and was awaiting the birth of his 2nd great grandchild. When Paul moved to Milton Harvest he had the good fortune to meet Joan Donnelly and they had 6 happy years together.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 28th from 1pm-4pm at The DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro to which family and friends are invited.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday morning at 11am at the First Presbyterian Church, 98 West Street, Marlboro with Pastor Laurie McNeill officiating. A reception will follow services at the church.
