I got to know Eleanor when I was running for Town Council. She joined the Democratic ticket when the Republicans didn’t give her the position in their ticket. She was fierce in her determination to keep her seat as Town Justice and pounded the pavement to win her votes. Then I worked with her as liaison to the Court. She was dedicated and ethical and just. I Was proud to work with her, to win grants for her courtroom and to work for improvements. She was such a fighter for right and rights. She loved my sister Terri and I always appreciated her for that friendship. They were like two Merry Widows. She contributed so much to our Town. Your family has much to be proud of.

I'll share a memory, too, of when she was a dispatcher and Dad was an officer. I was probably 10 or so and he said something about the dispatchers being afraid to carry guns when they worked at the station, even though they could. I asked, “Even Eleanor?” He cracked up and said, “You’re right, she does carry one!”
