Obituary of Elouise Bryant

Surrounded by her family, our Heavenly Father in His infinite wisdom and divine love called Elouise Brunson Bryant to her eternal rest in the early evening of September 17, 2019. Mother Bryant was born on December 24, 1930 in Faison, NC. She was one of three children born to the late Dock and Lena Brunson. Her sister and brother preceded her in death.

During her formative years, she attended Bland Elementary and Clear Run High School in Sampson County, NC. She was an excellent student and loved high school sports; known for being an outstanding basketball player. After completing her education, she moved to Newburgh, NY where she made her home and career for 50 years. In New York she joined Mt. Carmel Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ and worked tirelessly as a member, helper, and church usher. She was a devoted member of the church and worked diligently from its founding as a store front into the splendid edifice it is today. In California she joined Bethany Community Church of God in Christ in Gilroy, CA. While a member at Bethany, she helped to reshape the Usher Board and served as a Pastor's Aide. She continued to serve even when her health began to fail. She loved her Pastor and First Lady and remained faithful evermore.

Her professional life included early work in several local industries in New York. She eventually found the place and work she enjoyed at West Point Military Academy, Highland Falls, NY. She remained employed there for 30+years. During her tenure at West Point, she received numerous awards and certificates for exemplary work. Elouise retired at the age of 67 and relocated to San Jose, CA., where she regularly received cards on her birthday from the numerous West Point graduates she helped when they were cadets.

She leaves to cherish her memory six children: Alice Brunson, Ada D Moore, James L. Bryant, Louise M. Rich, Cynthia Robinson, Beverly J. Bryant and a number of family and friends who loved her dearly.
