A girl. A wife. A mother. A Grandma. The world may never understand the expanse of everything you were to everyone but here and now they may learn a small piece of the woman that you were.
February 3rd, 1955 Candie Jean was born in Patterson, NJ to Clifford and Marie Lozell a modest couple of immigrant parents. She was the third of seven sisters and by far the feistiest. From a young age Candie was the defender of the innocent and a voice for those who weren't able to speak for themselves. At the end of the day she was a jersey girl raised in the country on faith, love, and humble beginnings. Before the end of elementary school her parents felt it better to move their little family north and out of the city. Candie spent the remainder of her school years in the small town of Wallkill, NY where she graduated with high honors in anticipation of continuing education.
And so life began, in 1974 she welcomed her first child Tracie May. After a short time Candie learned that life doesn't always go as planned and she braced herself as she faced the task of single motherhood till along came a man who would change her world in a way she never thought possible. A savior of wayward souls, she welcomed this man into her heart that no other could tame and in 1984 they said I do. And so a new chapter and a new family had begun.
In 1988, Candie welcomed a second daughter into her life and her trio. Julianna Marie was born under the summer moon and brought joy and a new found sense of hope. A short time later, Candie went on to further her education and received her bachelor's in Health Information Management. Before her education could take on a new level a unexpected yet pleasant surprise was thrown into the mix. In the summer of 1995, Candie welcomed her final daughter Annalise Terese. After a few years of working and getting into a routine she decided it was once again time to return to her education. Candie graduated in 2000 valedictorian of her class at PACE University with her Masters of Science. Candie's work was her life's passion. She excelled in her field and has received numerous awards and credentials.
With a life so beautiful how could it possibly get any better and than one day it does. In 2007 Candie welcomed her first grandchild William Eldors Simmons. In 2011, she welcome James Daniel Simmons. In 2013, Candie welcomed her beloved Cooper Adam Bentley and in 2016 she welcomed Oliver Vincent and Alleigh Marie Bentley.
Never was there a brighter light in her life than when she was with her grandchildren. Candie lived and breathed for her family. She always spoke so highly of everything she accomplished in this life, but there was nothing that she was more proud of in this world than her family.
Candie was a beautiful soul and she will be truly missed by all who had a chance to know this amazing person.
