MILTON – Joseph A. Primavera, 87 of Milton, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at home surrounded by his wife and family. Born November 27, 1930, he was the son of Joseph and Lucille Primavera. Joe served his country with the US Air Force during the Korean War. He and his brother, Robert, owned Primavera Hardware in Vails Gate until his retirement in 2003. Joe was a member of St. Mary's Church in Marlboro. He was also a life member of the Marlboro Yacht Club and served as Commodore from 1972 to 1974 and again in 1984. Joe was an active boater for over 45 years and, until recently, still navigated the waters of Lake George with his devoted wife, Andrea. He enjoyed summers at the lake and winters in Florida, but especially loved coming home to Milton and visiting with friends and family. Joe is survived by his wife, Andrea, of Milton, daughter Julia and her husband Patrick McGlynn of Marlboro, son Joseph and his wife Lisa of Milton, stepsons Richard Birkenstock of Glen Spey, and Eric Birkenstock and his wife Michelle of Newburgh. He was the proud grandfather of Cailin McGlynn; Nicholas and Anthony Primavera; Brenna, Amanda, Richard, Karl, Paul and Faith Birkenstock. Joe was predeceased by his wife Sharlene in 2005. The family would like to thank the nurses, aides and entire staff of Hudson Valley Hospice for their dedicated and compassionate care for Joe in his final weeks.
