Howie was born in Sharon, CT, but grew up in Dover Plains, NY. He resided in Beacon, NY for over 40 years.
He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He married Dolores Buckey on July 13, 1952, prior to departing to war. They were married for 65 years until her passing on November 1st, 2017.
He is survived by his daughter Darlene Way Reinig and her husband Chris of Newburgh, NY and son Howard Way and his wife Lori of Plano, Texas. He was one of nine children. His brothers; Tom, Billy, Harold, Norman, Bob and Jerry and his sister Marie all predeceased him. His baby sister Irene survives.
Howie was a great mechanic and owned his own business, Stan & Howies, for over 20 years in Beacon, NY. He loved to bowl, play golf and spend time with his family. He was loved by everyone who met him and would always stop to help a stranger.
There will be a memorial service at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 850 Wolcott Avenue, Beacon, NY on Saturday, May 19th at 12 noon to which family and friends are invited.
