Obituary of Rosalie Sparacio

Rosalie Giannone Sparacio, 93, of Marlborough, NY died on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family. Born October 19, 1917 in Palermo, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Settimo and the late Calogera Randazzo Giannone. On October 25, 1942 she married Louis Sparacio at St. Rosalia Catholic Church in Brooklyn, NY. During her lifetime, Rosalie was not only a home maker, but worked as a seamstress, caterer, sales clerk, real estate saleswoman and teacher. She was a remarkable woman who was an excellent cook, gardener and poet. Rosalie had followed her husband throughout the South where he trained as a soldier during WW II. She was a member of the Marlboro and Milton Seniors and served as their chaplain and sang in the choir at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marlboro for many years. . Rosalie was predeceased by her husband Louis on April 14, 2010. She is survived by her son, Anthony Sparacio and his wife Nancy of Hilton Head, SC, daughter, Geraldine McKay and her husband Donald of Marlboro, NY, daughter Barbara Sparacio and her husband Frederick Villforth of Hopewell Junction, NY. Her grandchildren Nicole & Shawn Gardner, Tara Dalcollo, Melissa Siegel, Alaina & Joe Doddo, Lukas & Amanda McKay & Nathaniel S. Villforth. Her great grandchildren Ean, Connor & Hailey Gardner, Lauren, Alexa & Mia Siegel, Giancarlo & Amelia Doddo, Collin, Miranda & Katie McKay, Aiden Dalcollo, her sister Yolanda and brother in law Leonard Bellacicco of Highland, NY and several nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Francisco, Joseph, John, Hugo and Victor Giannone and sister Concetta Newsome. Calling hours will be Friday from 3-7pm at the DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro A mass of Christian burial will be offered on Saturday morning at 10am at St. Mary's Church, Marlboro with the Father Edward Bader officiating Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lattintown Road, Marlboro In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Voluntary Service, VA- HVHCS, Castle Point, NY 12511 or Orange-Ulster Hospice, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550 Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Carl J.
