Vincent A. Russo of Poughkeepsie, NY and formerly of Milton, NY, passed away quietly on October 10, 2017, in Poughkeepsie New York. He was 87. Vincent was born on February 4, 1930 in Milton, New York. He was the son of the late James & Mary Feneck Russo.
He graduated from Marlboro School District in 1947. In 1951 he married his sweetheart Irene Mosca and served in the U.S. Army from 1952 - 54. An active member in his community and a charter member of the Town of Marlboro Volunteer Ambulance Corp., he served as president and captain for many years. He was instrumental in donating an ambulance to a small village in mexico. Vincent was employed at Ralph C Herman as a heavy equipment mechanic and operator and worked as general manager until his retirement in 1992.
Vincent is survived by his beloved wife Irene Russo of 66 years, his children; Vincent Russo Jr, Michael Russo and daughter Nancy Desole and husband Joseph Desole, grandchildren; Charles Castrogiovanni, wife Jamie Castrogiovanni and great granddaughter Gloriana Castrogiovanni, and many other family members.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. "Papa" will be dearly missed.
There will be no calling hours. A small graveside service will be held on Friday, October 13th at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery, 510 Lattintown Road, Marlboro to which family and friends are invited.
