Obituary of Herbert Pultz

Herbert Galen Pultz of Marlboro, NY passed away on Friday, March 24th, 2017 at the age of 68, after a courageous three year battle with cancer. He died peacefully at Kaplan Family Hospice of Newburgh. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Cindy. He also leaves his daughter, Dianna Kanter, who resides in Wellesley, MA with her husband Brian and their three daughters, Lauren, Sydney, and Madeleine.

Herb is predeceased by his two brothers: Reney and Glen; two stepbrothers: William and George.

Herb was born on January 20, 1949 in Newburgh and was the son of the late George and Mary Pultz. He grew up in Marlboro, graduating from Marlboro High School in 1967.

Herb enlisted in the United States Army, After completing basic training he served his country in Vietnam. Upon his return to the US he was stationed at Ft. Devens, Massachusetts. He was a long time member of the American Legion.

Herb was a plant technician at Dynegy Northeast, formerly Central Hudson, and retired in 2007. He was a passionate train aficionado; reading about trains, riding trains in many states, as well as being an avid model railroader and collector. Herb will be long remembered as a thoughtful and giving friend, always freely offering his help whenever and wherever needed. His family and his many friends will sadly miss him - a kind and generous man.

The family will receive friends at the DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro, NY on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 4 to 8 pm.

Funeral services will be held on Friday morning at 10:30 am at the funeral home with Pastor Jody Spiak officiating.

Entombment will follow in Cedar Hill Mausoleum.
