Nelson I. Dina, a lifelong resident of Marlboro, NY passed away on September 10, 2017 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh, NY. He was 89 years old. Nelson was the son of the late Onofrio & Angelina Volpe Dina. He was born in Marlboro, NY on January 11, 1928. He married Phyllis Cosman with whom he celebrated 66 years of marriage.
Nelson was a graduate of Marlboro High School and the State University of NY at Morrisville.
He was a United States Army veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a Lab Technician at Texaco Research before starting his own business, Dina's Power Center of Milton, with sons Edward & Geoffrey until his retirement in 1991.
Nelson was elected to the Ulster County Legislature, was chairman of the Ulster County IDA Board and was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Marlboro Library. He served as Vice Commodore of the Marlboro Yacht Club and President of the Beach Hill Sportsman Club.
Nelson had a passion for fly fishing and hunting and was a true sportsman. Family was the most important part of his life.
Survivors include his wife Phyllis, sons: Edward and fiancé Kymbra, Geoffrey and wife Karen,
grandchildren: Matthew Dina and wife Melanie, Lisa DeMarco and husband Robert, Kimberly Hawley and husband Tim, great grandchildren: Kaylie & Zachary Dina and Jackson & Brayden DeMarco, brother Louis Dina and wife Margaret and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his sister Ann Jackson.

At Nelson's request funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family.
