Rose Lucy Spagnola, 93, died July 13, 2017, at her home in Marlboro, New York.
Ms. Spagnola was born June 1, 1924 in Marlboro to Lucy and Carmine (George) Spagnola. She was the youngest of six children. She attended Marlboro High School where she was valedictorian of her class. Rose furthered her education at Spencer Secretarial School in Newburgh. She worked as an executive assistant at Mastic Tile/GAF Corporation, Vails Gate, and retired from Macbeth in Newburgh in 1989.
Rose enjoyed tending to her peonies and roses, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her nieces, Elaine Van Buren of Texas and Lucille Marchitelli of Florida, nephew George Spagnola, Jr. of New Jersey; great-nieces Toni-Marie Van Buren, Kathleen Kelleher and Karen Van Buren of Texas, great-nephew Robert W. Van Buren, Jr. of Connecticut; great-nephew Vincent Marchitelli, Jr., and great-niece Susan Mania, of New Jersey; as well as many great-great nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 21, 2017 from 3 P.M. until 7 P.M. at Di Donato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro.
A mass of Christian burial will be offered on Saturday morning, July 22, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at
St. Mary's-St. James Catholic Church, 1209 Route 9W, Marlboro.
Interment immediately following Mass at Saint Mary's Cemetery, 510 Lattintown Road, Marlboro.
