Obituary of William Tonelli, Sr.

William Joseph Tonelli, Sr. age 81 living in Milton, NY passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017 at home.

William was born on September 16, 1935 in Pontremoli, Italy. He was the son of the late Amelio Tonelli & Iolanda Scaccalossi Tonelli.

William was a United States Army Veteran serving in Korean from 1956-1958. He was the licensed owner of T & T Electrical Contracting in NYC for over 50 years before retiring.

Survivors include his brother Natale Tonelli & wife Linda, his sons William Joseph Tonelli, Jr. and his companion Anna, Dino Carlo Tonelli and his wife Maria, his daughter; Lisa Tonelli Devenuto and her husband Anthony, daughter in law June Tonelli, Grandchildren; David Brown, William Tonelli III and his wife Charity, Angelina Tonelli, Joseph Tonelli, Anthony Tonelli and Marisa Tonelli & great grandchildren ,McKayla Brown and Sophia Brown, Step daughter, Theresa Pellegrini Strenge, children; Andrea and Violet, and husband Brian, And William's long time companion Ana Rossi, his first wife Elina Cordani and her husband Piero, nieces: Laura, Donna, Christina and nephew John.

He was predeceased by his sister Maria Tonelli Nussberger, grandson Dino "Rocco" Tonelli, his second wife Ines Pellegrini Tonelli and her son Tommy Pellegrini.

Bill was an above average avid bowler since he was in his early20's, he also enjoyed "shooting" pool and billiards late into the night as well. He was very passionate in traveling the world, cruises across the seas and had his fun in the casinos. Bill also loved listening and singing Italian songs... one of his favorite lines, from "Voglio Vivere Cosi" was... "I want to live happy, with the sun in my face, happily singing with my love".

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4pm-8pm at the DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro.

A mass of Christian burial will be offered on Friday morning at 10am at St. Mary's-St. James Church, 1209 Route 9W, Marlboro.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in William's memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, Attn: Department 3, 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001. For those sending flowers, please do not include lilies.
