Abraham Locher of Highland, NY passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at his home. He was 84 years old. Abraham was born in Amsterdam, Holland on June 16, 1932. He was the son of the late Mozes & Clara Hamerslag Locher. He married Betty Franschman who predeceased him.
Abraham was a holocaust survivor and was a United States Army Veteran. He was a self employed salesman working for lighting and clothing companies before his retirement. He loved to take cruises.
Survivors include his daughters Marsha Decker and her husband Patrick of New Windsor and Nicole Favaro and her husband Bill of Fishkill, his sister Milly Kessler and her husband Larry of South Carolina, his grandchildren; Janine Peck and her husband Dylan, Jacqueline Bryan, Courtney Bryan, Justin Favaro, Kyle Favaro, his great grandchildren; Brayden Peck & Jake Peck and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Karel Locher and his sister Miep Locher.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 9th from 10:30am-12 noon at the DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro, NY.
Entombment will immediately follow at Cedar Park Mausoleum, 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, NJ.
Memorial donations can be made in Abraham's name to the Hudson Valley Hospice Foundation, 400 Aaron Court, Kingston, NY 12401.
